Michael Keller has been closely connected to Lake Tahoe his entire life. Michael was born in Truckee and was initially raised in North Lake Tahoe. Michael grew up spending summers and many weekends at his family’s vacation homes at the lake. Michael moved to Tahoe full-time in 1999 and earned an associate’s degree from Lake Tahoe Community College before transferring to the University of California at Santa Cruz where he completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Economics. Michael returned home in 2003 to pursue his career in real estate real estate investment.
In contrast to many part-time agents, Michael is very active in the local real estate market and community. Michael has over 20 years of experience as a licensed Realtor® in the Lake Tahoe Area and started his independant brokerage, Keller Properties, in 2006. Over the past several years Michael has been a consistent top producer in the area. In 2020 Michael closed 67 transaction sides valued at over $96,000,000 which set an all-time sales volume record for the entire South Tahoe MLS. Notable sales include multiple record-setting transactions in Tahoe’s top neighborhoods and settings. With over 380 career transactions valued at over $370,000,000, Michael has extensive experience you can trust. Specialties include waterfront Tahoe Keys homes, lakefront properties, new construction, and investment properties. Michael has also been voted the “Best of Tahoe” Agent/Brokerage in the Tahoe Daily Tribune’s annual rankings of local businesses in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020. Michael also owns investment properties in both South Lake Tahoe and on the Big Island of Hawaii as well as a lakefront on Fallen Leaf Lake. Michael's personal purchases and holdings allow him direct insight into investment and rental property dynamics.
Some of Michael’s community involvement includes serving as a director on the Barton Hospital Foundation Board, as well as serving on the Tahoe Keys property owners' board of directors and the board of the Sustainable Community Alliance. Michael’s knowledge of marketing, economics, investment, and the local market are valuable assets for his clients who want to either maximize their return on a sale or optimize their purchase process.
When he’s not working hard for his his clients, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Siobhan (a nurse at Barton Hospital) and his son Anderson (7 years old attending 1st grade at Meyers Elementry). Michael’s hobbies include skiing/snowboarding, sailing/boating, mountain biking, flying, and spending any free time he can find out on Lake Tahoe or at Fallen Leaf.
